FAQ's

• How do you set the airflow speed on the autoflow extraction units?
  • Ensure the start signal is present (if required)
    Press & hold the UP & Down buttons until the green LED begins to flash (the unit is now in set mode).
    Press the UP or DOWN button to adjust the fan speed to the desired flow
    Leave the unit, when the green LED stops flashing the unit is set.
    
    
• Can I use my BOFA solder fume extractor for gluing and potting operations?
  • Probably. Let us know the unit you have and what glues, potting compounds you use and we will confirm if it is suitable.
    
    
• I have changed to lead free solder, do I need to change my extraction system?
  • Probably not. Lead free solders require higher temperatures which generates more fume. Provided your extraction system is still capturing all the fume then it will be fine. You may notice a slightly shorter filter life because of the extra fume.
    
    
• I have changed to Rosin free solder do I still need extraction?
  • Probably. Check the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the solder you are using, it should tell you if local exhaust ventilation is required.
